As we told you last night, the next set of 7 Comments in FarmVille will continue in the spirit of Halloween, but will transition from ghosts to Pirates on the high seas. After you've completed the three basic Pirate Goals - 7 Comments - you'll be able to move onto three harder Bonus Challenges, according to the folks at FVNation. Here, the goals will reward you with a few themed items (animals and decorations), but they'll also require you to do plenty of recipe crafting, plenty of farming and more, all within a very short time limit. Here's your guide for what to expect.
Bonus Challenge 1
Get Creamed Corn to Level 20
Harvest 110 Daylilies
Harvest Lighthouse Cove
Daylilies take 16 hours to grow. In that time, you'll need to be working on your Cream Corn recipe (unless you're lucky enough to have reached this milestone ahead of time). Each individual Creamed Corn requires three Butter & Sugar Corn, three Tarragon and one Pepper Bushels. Since these goals haven't technically launched yet, and as you'll need to complete the first three Pirate Goals anyway, you still have some time to work on this before you're actually required to, which is a smart idea. For finishing this first Bonus Challenge goal, you'll receive 500 XP, a spooky, plant-covered Tombstone decoration, and 2,500 coins.
Bonus Challenge 2
Achieve Level 1 Mastery of Butter & Sugar Corn
Improve the Cove to Level 7
Make Jonny Cakes 4 Times
Butter & Sugar Corn takes 12 hours to grow, and the first star of mastery is earned at 425 harvests (if you don't have it already). Jonny Cakes are crafted inside the Restaurant using two Butter & Sugar Corn, two Rye and two Daylily bushels each. Finishing this second bonus goal gives you 1,000 XP, 2,500 coins and a long-tailed Duck (the exact name might be different).
Bonus Challenge 3
Harvest an Aviary
Harvest 110 Dill
Harvest one Orchard
If you haven't built an Aviary on your Lighthouse Cove, here's our guide to doing so. Meanwhile, Dill takes 12 hours to grow. For completing this final Bonus Challenge, you'll receive 500 XP, 2,500 coins and a Pirate Sheep. Plus, you'll also walk away with the satisfaction of knowing that you completed all three Bonus Challenges, which is sometimes a prize in and of itself.
Remember, you'll only have a matter of days to complete these goals once they launch in your game, so you'll want to do as much as you can before they arrive to prepare. Make sure to start crafting Cream Corn to level it up, or even expand your cove to hold more crops at once. How far you go will be up to you, but we wish you luck regardless.

What do you think of these Pirate Goal Bonus Challenges? Are they harder than previous Bonus Challenges that we've seen?

armVille 2 Comments FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Pirate Bonus Goals: Everything you need to know
CityVille Treats 'N Sweets Booth: Everything you need to know
If you didn't already have enough to work on in CityVille this Halloween, then there's a new feature that you might want to check out in the game. A Treats N' Sweets booth is now available for you to build, that will allow you to gather pieces of candy similar to the Sea Shell gathering event we saw over the summer. Eventually a Halloween Carnival will be coming to town, but for now, you can build this Treats N' Sweets booth to get started.
First things first, building the booth will help you complete a new goal called "Calorie Count," that comes with 500 Goods as a reward. You won't get those Goods, however, until you actually complete the building's construction. This is done by gathering plenty of building materials:
3 Sugar
3 Ribbon
3 Candy Molds
3 Candy Wrappers
3 Candy Coloring
The Sugar and Candy Molds are earned through generic wall posts that you can place on your news feed, while the Candy Wrappers and Candy Coloring come from individual requests sent to friends. You can also purchase any of these items for five City Cash each.
Once the Treats N' Sweets Booth is complete, you'll be able to start gathering candy from it. At its current, Level 1 state, you'll get a single piece of candy each time you collect. However, the building can be upgraded two more times, with each time allowing you to gather more candy per collection (two pieces for Level 2, and three pieces for Level 3, as you might expect). To upgrade, you'll need to collect the same five items as above, but in bigger quantities.
That is, to upgrade to Level 2, you'll need five each of Ribbons, Candy Molds, Candy Coloring, Candy Wrappers and Sugar, and for Level 3, you'll need seven of each item. Not only will upgrading allow you to get more candy, but you'll also earn more coins from your upgraded booth each time you collect from it.
We'll make sure to let you know when the rest of the Halloween Carnival feature launches in your town, so keep checking back with us!

What do you think of this Treats 'N Sweets Booth? Will you take the time to upgrade it twice, or will you leave it in its original state?

CityVille: Crypt Keeper's Crib added to Halloween extravaganza
While most of us are busy slaving away, building small community buildings and homes in CityVille for the 9,000+ Monsters we'll eventually need to be living in our towns for the Halloween event, if you're one of the users that's willing to pay City Cash to more easily complete tasks (or, you just really love the look of the game's premium Halloween items), you'll be happy to know that a new premium home has been added to the game's store, at an equally expensive price.
The Crypt Keeper's Crib costs a whopping 80 City Cash, but for that price you'll have a home that will give you an equally large amount of Monster citizens: 2,350, to be exact. Rent accumulates every eight hours, allowing you to each 250 coins each time you collect it, by default (keep in mind you can make that number much higher with decorations). Furthermore, if you're lucky enough to receive population increases when you collect the Crib's rent, you could eventually see this one's population grow to 4,350 Monsters (or citizens, depending on whether or not Halloween has passed by that point).
Either way, this particular building may be nice for those that already have a massive Monster population cap, but if your town can't currently hold 2,350 more Monsters, you'll need to build enough Community Buildings to reach that cap. There are plenty of options available for City Cash (why stop your splurging on just one building?), that will more easily raise the cap the necessary amount of Monsters, or you can building multiple Trees of Enchantment or Zombie ERs (as examples) to achieve the same end. Whatever the case, make sure to make your decision quickly, as these items won't be around forever.

FarmVille Halloween Items: Nightmare Unicorn, Fire Peach Tree and more
With tonight's FarmVille update, we see a slew of new items launch in the current limited edition Halloween item theme. If you've yet to pull your Halloween items out of storage, now's the time, as you've got plenty of items to further flesh out your spooky graveyard or ghost town on your farm(s). As usual, we're here to give you a complete rundown of the items available this evening, so let's get started!
Trees
Fire Peach Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Giant Fire Peach Tree - 14 Farm Cash
Jack O Lantern Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Giant Jack O Lantern Tree - 14 Farm Cash
For tree collectors, tonight's update is a big one as it sees the release of four new trees, along with four corresponding mastery signs. As you'd expect, the two Peach Trees are a pair, with the giant version being available for free via Mystery Seedlings. Likewise, the Giant Jack O Lantern Tree is available as a Mystery Seedling as well, so feel free to skip purchasing it and only invest in the Jack O Lantern Tree. As for mastery, all of these trees come with the same stats, and will be mastered after 75, 150 and 225 harvests each.
Animals
Nightmare (Pony) - 26 Farm Cash
Nightmare Unicorn - 30 Farm Cash
Nightmare Sheep - 20 Farm Cash
Nightmare Cow - 24 Farm Cash
All of these animals have one thing in common, other than having "Nightmare" in their names: they are all a dark brown/black animal with some kind of flames for "hair." In the case of the Nightmare Unicorn, the flames are an awesome bright blue color, while the other three animals have orange flames. Keep in mind, farmers, that the Nightmare Pony (officially called just the "Nightmare") was originally released in last year's Halloween theme, and then again in the Birthday event last June. Make sure you don't already have one in your collection before spending anymore Farm Cash on the animal.
Buildings
Ghost Inn - 30 Farm Cash
Yet again, we're seeing a fairly awesome Halloween building being released for Farm Cash (unfortunately). This one is a few shades of purple and has glowing windows. Perhaps I'm just partial (my favorite color is purple, after all), but this one is definitely temping my wallet.
Decorations
Raven - 18 Farm Cash
Trick or Treat - 15 Farm Cash
Misty Waterfall - 18 Farm Cash
Skeleton Flamingo - 30,000 coins
Black Rose Planter - 8,000 coins
Dreadful Fence - 5,000 coins
If you already own a few of the Black Rose items from previous themes, know that this one is a different item that you can add to your collection. As for the Dreadful Fence, this is a re-released item that would make the perfect accompaniment to any Graveyard area you have setup on your farm with previously released tombstones.
Avatar Costumes
Ugly Duckling - 50 Farm Cash
Duck - 45 Farm Cash
Black Sheep - 40 Farm Cash
Sheep - 45 Farm Cash
Pink Cow - 35 Farm Cash
Unfortunately, if you want your avatar to be dressed up as any of the most basic animals from FarmVille, you're going to have to shell out a ton of Farm Cash to do so. Hopefully, we'll see additional costumes released in the future - even if they're re-released ones - that are a bit cheaper.
As usual, these new items come with a two week time limit, giving you plenty of time to purchase Farm Cash if you need to, and enough time to pull out your other Halloween items to see just which of these new items go best with those already in your collection. Just remember to go shopping sooner, rather than later, so you don't forget about these new items entirely (trust me, I've been guilty of that more than once).
What do you think of these new FarmVille Halloween items? Have you already decided which costume to dress your avatar up in this year? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille Mystery Game (10/02/11): Horse theme leads to a free Halloween Tower
If you're a FarmVille Horse collector that still hasn't had your fill of adding Horses to your collection with the release of Mystery Boxes and return of plenty of past Horses to the store, why not take a look at this week's Mystery Game? That's right, this week's theme is primarily Horses, while this week's bonus prize is a bit... odd.
First things first, this week's game costs 20 Farm Cash to play per dart. While you don't have a guarantee of receiving a different animal with every dart you throw, if you do win, you'll walk away with one of the following:
* Black Arabian
* Brumby Horse
* Peruvian Horse
* Tennessee Horse
* Trakehner Horse
* Trotter Stallion
If you win all six (again, this might not happen on your first six darts, and can turn into a very expensive prospect depending on your luck), you'll walk away with a bonus prize, this time in the new Halloween limited edition item theme. The item specifically is the Halloween Tower, as seen at right in TritonHelper's picture from the FarmVille forums.
Interestingly, it looks like these Horses are scaled down a bit, as looking at the Foal in the background shows that they aren't as big as other Horses you may already have in your collection. Not that this is the first time animals have been oddly scaled in the game, but I digress.
Whether you're going for the full set, or just one or two of these Horses, make sure to throw those darts within the next week, while they're still available. Good luck!
Will you play this week's Mystery Game? Which Horses did you want to win? Which ones did you actually end up with? Sound off in the comments!

FarmVille Gamestop promotion offers rewards with Game Card purchase
Zynga has launched a new cross-promotional event in FarmVille this evening, teaming the game up with video game retailer GameStop to offer "exclusive mystery goods" to users that purchase and redeem Zynga Game Cards from GameStop. That is, in addition to simply earning the appropriate amount of Farm Cash based on the card value you redeemed (whether that be $10, $25 or $50), you'll also receive a free gift.
So far, it looks like you'll receive one of four items all wrapped up in a red and white box. All of these items are themed for Halloween, with three being re-releases. Specifically, there's a Wizard Gnome and Spooky Bush from last year's Halloween theme, while a Plant Monster from both Halloween 2009 and 2010 is also available. In terms of new goodies, you have a chance to earn the Candy Corn Chicken, although the loading screen above doesn't detail whether or not we'll be able to choose our prize, or if we'll just need to get lucky. For someone that already has the three previously released items, that's definitely something to keep in mind. On the other hand, there's also the slight possibility that a single card will guarantee you all four items, but again, that wasn't detailed either.
We'll be able to learn more about this promotion by visiting GameStop's website, but as of this writing, the promotion link doesn't work (it instead redirects to GameStop's downloads page). We'll make sure to keep checking on things and will let you know when the link goes live, along with exactly what you'll find there (hopefully answers to our questions). Either way, we do know one thing: this promotion will end November 6.
Update: We now know the specific details of this feature, as Gamestop's page is now live. Depending on the dollar amount you spend on a Zynga Game Card, you'll be eligible for different amounts of items. For $10, you'll receive one mystery item. For $25 you'll receive three and for $50 you'll receive six. However, as there are only four listed items, it looks like if you purchase a $50 card for FarmVille, you'll receive two mystery boxes (containing truly mystery items) along with the four listed above.
Will you purchase a Zynga Game Card for a chance at these Halloween-themed items in FarmVille? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille Halloween items: Candy Corn Tree, Halloween Cottage, Jack-O'-Lantern and more
With tonight's FarmVille update, we see the game switch to Halloween-mode, as the first set of Halloween related items has been released in the store. This particular update sees the launch of both new items and old, so if you happen to regret not purchasing some items from last year's Halloween theme, take a look at our overview of these items to see if they've come back around.
Crops
Jack O Lantern - 10 Farm Cash
To be specific, the Jack O Lantern crop comes as an exclusive, permit-only crop that can be unlocked for 10 Farm Cash. For that price, you'll gain access to planting the crop as many times as you'd like for a seven day period. Once purchased and planted, you'll be able to harvest the Jack O Lanterns after 12 hours, and will gain three experience points for each and every square planted. The crop is masterable, with the first star coming at 400 harvests.
Trees
Candy Corn Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Giant Candy Corn Tree - 14 Farm Cash
Halloween Candy Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Big Halloween Candy Tree - 14 Farm Cash
If you're like me, the thought of bright and whimsical trees will likely have you ready to whip out your credit card. These trees are no exception, as the Halloween Candy trees keep their purple color constantly, while the Candy Corn trees start out in different shades of green, only to mature into the classic white, yellow and orange trio of colors we're familiar with from the candy. As usual, the Level 1 (cheaper) trees are the only ones you really need to worry about purchasing outright for your collection, as you'll likely earn the larger trees in each pair for free via Mystery Seedlings.
Animals
Candy Corn Cat - 12 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Pony - 24 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Unicorn - 30 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Stallion - 35 Farm Cash
For these animals, the Candy Corn Pony was released last year (also for 24 Farm Cash), so you might already have one on your farm. If you'd like to purchase these items for your new Lighthouse Cove farm, however, you will have to purchase multiples (duplicates) as there is no way to transfer storage to your new farm as of this writing.
Buildings
Halloween Cottage - 30 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Home - 18 Farm Cash
The Halloween Cottage has to be one of the most intricately detailed buildings I've seen released in FarmVille in quite some time, if not ever. The building is covered in various spiderwebs and has candy, pumpkins and what appear to be twigs resting in the windowsills, around the front "porch" and the sides. Even the weather vane on the roof is in the design of the bat - how neat! As for the Candy Corn Home, it takes on a cuter appearance, with smaller candy corn pieces branching off from the main home as separate rooms. It's just a shame that both of these items cost Farm Cash, rather than going for coins.
Decorations
Candy Corn Gate - 10,000 coins
Candy Corn (Fountain) - 15 Farm Cash
Jack-O'-Lantern - 3,000 coins
Candy Corn Gnome - 15 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Fence - 5,000 coins
If this Jack-O'-Lantern trio looks familiar, it's because this is one item that has been a stable in FarmVille's Halloween events for the last few years, first appearing in 2009. The price has increased somewhat, but at 3,000 coins, it's still a bargain (especially considering that they glow as though lit with a candle).
Avatar Clothing
Banana Costume - 5 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Costume - 7 Farm Cash
While I'm fairly confident additional costumes will be launched in the game's store between now and Halloween proper, if you're looking to get into the spirit early, or just really like Bananas or Candy Corn, you can spend a few Farm Cash to dress your avatar up appropriately. Remember, you can try on items to see if you like the way your avatar looks in them before purchasing.
All of these items (with the exception of the crop) will be available in the game for the next 13 days. To top all of this off, however, if you happen to purchase seven items in this theme so far within the next seven days, you'll receive a free Nightmare Rider: a Halloween-themed sheep with a pumpkin hat and an orange and black flame motorcycle. We'll make sure to let you know when additional Halloween items and features launch in the game in the coming weeks, so keep checking back with us!
Are you excited to see FarmVille transition into Halloween-themed mode this year? Which of these items is your favorite so far? Sound off in the comments.
